Review general knowledge relevant to the areas covered by the
job network.
Prepare a basic concepts review sheet for the areas covered.
Think of ways of applying basic concepts into work-related
scenarios.
Read introductory resources in the areas covered by the job
network.
Review case studies, read about the best practices in the areas
relevant to the job network.
Use your reasoning when you feel like you do not have the indepth substantive knowledge to answer a question.

You will not be tested on your knowledge of the United Nations
Rules and Regulations.
You will not be tested on your pure substantive knowledge either –
instead, you will be asked to apply your knowledge to a given task.
Specialized Paper Part I Multiple Choice Questions will be marked
first and will be eliminatory.
Specialized Paper Part II Mandatory Constructed Response Items
might serve as the second eliminatory part
In the Specialized Paper Part II, you will also be given the
opportunity to answer Constructed Response Items of your choice,
based on your specific educational background, knowledge, skills,
and abilities.

Study the reading list thoroughly.
Look into the official documents and reports published by the United
Nations and/or similar organizations in the job network you are
convoked for.
Familiarize yourself with the context relevant to the United Nations
and/or similar organizations’ activities
Identify the most commonly faced challenges in the areas relevant
to the job network.
Keep yourself up-to-date with the best practices in the areas
relevant to the job network.
Work on real and/or fictitious case studies where you aim to provide
a solution to a given problem by applying your knowledge and
problem-solving skills in presence of the information available.
