Applied Technology Center HOSA - Bylaws
ARTICLE I
Name
Section 1

The name of this organization shall be Applied Technology Center
HOSA. The acronym ATC HOSA may be used to designate the
Organization.
ARTICLE II
Purpose

Section 1

To unite in a common bond without regard to race, creed, or
national origin students affiliated with Health Occupations Students
of America - Future Health Professionals (HOSA).

Section 2

To develop leadership that is competent and self-reliant. 


Section 3

To improve scholarship and develop skills that will enable young
men and women to participate effectively in health-science
education.

Section 4

To create more interest and understanding in the intelligent choice
of health-careers. 


Section 5

To engage in individual and group projects of a health and
community nature.

Section 6

To recognize outstanding leadership in HOSA Members.

Section 7

To create school loyalty and help preserve the principles of
democracy. 


Section 8

To develop leadership in future health professionals. 

ARTICLE III
Organization

Section 1

ATC HOSA will operate in accordance with California-HOSA (CalHOSA), HOSA, and HOSA, Inc.

ARTICLE IV
Membership
Section 1

ATC HOSA is open to all students in the Health Pathway at Applied
Technology Center High School (ATC) and to all students who plan
to pursue a health-care career.

Section 2

Five members and one advisor shall constitute a chapter.

Section 3

All members of ATC HOSA shall also be members of Cal-HOSA and
HOSA.

Section 4

Membership is established by the payment of an affiliation fee. This
fee may be payed by another entity.
ARTICLE V
Officers

Section 1

The Executive Council of ATC HOSA shall consist of the following
Officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Sergeantat-Arms/Parliamentarian, Historian, Programmatic Committees
Lieutenant, and Training Lieutenant. They shall constitute the
Chapter’s Executive Council. Other officers may be designated as
desirable.

Section 2

The Executive Officers shall serve for a term of one year or until a
successor is elected.

Section 3

The program coordinator(s)/instructor(s) associated with the health
science program and/or other school/district employee(s) shall be
Advisor(s) to ATC HOSA.

Section 4

Officers of ATC HOSA shall be nominated and elected by a process
determined by the Chapter Advisor(s).

Section 5

Officer duties will coincide with those contained in Robert’s Rules of
Order, Newly Revised in any case applicable and in which they are
not inconsistent with these Bylaws or those of Cal-HOSA, HOSA,
and HOSA, Inc., and any special rules ATC HOSA may adopt.
ARTICLE VI
Dues and Finances

Section 1

Annual dues will be established by Cal-HOSA and HOSA.

Section 2

Members’ dues will be payed for by members. Dues may be payed
for by another entity.

Section 3

All Members whose dues are payed will have a voting privilege.

Section 4

The fiscal year of ATC HOSA shall be July 1 through June 30.

Section 5

A financial audit of ATC HOSA will be conducted annually by a
special committee.

Section 6

ATC HOSA may collect necessary funds for Chapter operations.
ARTICLE VII
Parliamentary Authority

Section 1

The rules contained in the most recent version of Robert’s Rules of
Order, Newly Revised shall govern ATC HOSA meetings and all
other Chapter activities in all cases to which they are applicable and
in which they are not inconsistent with these Bylaws or those of
Cal-HOSA, HOSA, and HOSA, Inc., and any special rules ATC HOSA
may adopt.

Section 2

The Sargeant-at-Arms/Parliamentarian of ATC HOSA shall ensure
that all meetings and all other Chapter operations run in
accordance with the latest version of Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly
Revised and the rules contained in these Bylaws.
ARTICLE VIII
Meetings

Section 1

General meetings for ATC HOSA shall be held regularly.

Section 2

Meetings of the Executive Council shall be held in order to develop
an agenda for general meetings.

Section 3

Special meetings shall be called by the President or any other
member of the Executive Council of ATC HOSA as necessary.

Section 4

A majority of the entire voting body shall constitute a quorum.

Section 5

Two-thirds of the Executive Council shall constitute a quorum.

ARTICLE IX
Committees
Section 1

Standing Committees shall include the Finance and Fundraising
Committee, Training Committee, Chapter News and Social Media
Committee, and Events Committee. Additional standing committees
shall be created as necessary.

Section 2

Special Committees shall be created as necessary.

Section 3

Committee meetings shall be called at the discretion of the
Committee Chairperson.
ARTICLE X
Bylaws and Amendment of Bylaws

Section 1

These Bylaws and amendments to these Bylaws shall be adopted
by a two-thirds vote of the entire voting body.

Section 2

Requests for amendment(s) of these Bylaws shall be submitted in
writing to the Executive Council at a general meeting and will be
voted on at the following general meeting.

Section 3

These Bylaws shall be updated regularly by the Sargeant-at-Arms/
Parliamentarian of ATC HOSA.

Section 4

In addition to amendments made during the fiscal year, a thorough
review of these Bylaws shall be conducted at the end of each fiscal
year to ensure they are accurate.

Section 5

These Bylaws and any amendments made to these Bylaws must be
submitted to Cal-HOSA.
ARTICLE XI
Disciplinary Procedure

Section 1
ARTICLE XII
Dissolution
Section 1

Upon final dissolution of ATC HOSA and after final discharge or
satisfaction of all outstanding obligations and liabilities, its
remaining assets will be dealt with according to District policy.
