Despiteresigningfromhisjobtomaketimefortraveling,aswe
reportedlastyear,Briancontinuedtoworkthroughouttheyear.
Whilemuchlessadventurous,itwasaResponsibleAdultDecision.
Keepingwiththeyear’stheme,Alysongotajob,too.InSeptember
shestartedworkingattheBlueCrossofIdahoFoundationforHealth,
anonͲprofitthatpromoteshealthandwellnessinIdaho.
So,wecontinuetolivewellinoursmallhouseinBoisewithourdogs
CashandNikki.Whenwestarttofeelreckless,wetakethedogsto
theparkwithoutleashes.That’sagainstparkrules,youknow.

Weenjoyed,asalways,theannualMemorialDayextravaganzain
WashingtonwithBrian'sfamily,andaddedastopinOregontosee
Alyson'sfamilyontheway.
AndinOctober,wewentto
KauaiforAlyson'ssister's
weddingandspentalmosttwo
weeksexploringtheisland.
WehikedtheKalalauTrail,
livingoffthelandforthree
days(aidedbyourstateͲofͲ
theͲarttentandgenerous
foodrations).
WeenjoyedthegreatIdahooutdoorsthisyearaswell.Alyson
climbedherfirstpeak–12,000ftHyndman!Onanothertrip,wegot
lostforanightinthewoods.Thatwastheclosestwecametoserious
maritalstrifeinourfirstyearofmarriage,butitwasagoodsignthat

tryitallagainthefollowingday.
