Smart-camp & Guess Who

Searching For
A New Balance

Message from the MD
….and now the end of the year is near!
This year has again been a rather tough, but yet satisfying year again for our company.
Although many South African companies slumped and some even closed given the tough
trading conditions, our business’s turnover continued to grow, if only rather slightly.
Again this year Teraoka S.A. was privileged to host the “Smart Camp”! This camp is a one
week event that takes neglected and often abused children out of their poor daily
circumstances that often include alcohol and drug abuse by their parents or guardians. The
camp is organised by “Westview Clinic” and located in The Magaliesburg. It teaches the kids
the necessary life skills to cope with their existing circumstances through various workshops
and counselling sessions. And of course there is also plenty of time for the kids to do “kids
things”. These include hiking, swimming, watching movies and even bridge swinging!
To all staff, I can personally pass on the “Thank You’s” and appreciation from all the kids of
Smart Camp!
As the year draws to a close I would like to take this opportunity in thanking each and every
staff member for their continued support and dedication. Not forgetting ofcourse the many
husbands and wives, girlfriends and boyfriends that stood by our staff despite long hours and
high stress levels. It is to these support people that we dedicate our success!
So, from the Directors and Management of Teraoka S.A….
………….. Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!
Best wishes,
Paul Smart.

Congratulations to the Randburg-team for
winning branch of the year yet again. Seen

branch manager) with a trip to Singapore

News from Label Division
Label Division has made big strides in 2011, and with the purchase of the
new 6-colour UV Mark Andy P3 series, it shows we are now serious about
delivery and print quality. The P3 is able to reach print speeds of up to
228 m/min without jeopardizing product quality. To compliment the P3,
we acquired the new Rotoflex rewinding machine to help bolster our
turnaround times.

Right:

Teraoka landed the Rainbow contract earlier this year which had
significantly increased sales and volume through the factory. The
volumes were just shy of 8 million square meters of paper for 2011,
yielding an average volume growth of 10% when compared to 2010.
Label Division was also successful in its second Woolworths audit which
took place earlier this year.

Right:

Next year will see us refurbish the coating heads on both ETI 1 and 2
which will help bring and even better quality product to our customers.
We have been sourcing new suppliers from Europe to help keep costs as
low as possible without jeopardizing quality.

Quote
What is Christmas? It is tenderness
for the past, courage for the
present, hope for the future. It is a
fervent wish that every cup may

eternal, and that every path may
lead to peace. ~ Agnes M. Pharo ~
