Treatment of Cri Du
Chat.

--//0w0\\--

\\\(.../w\...)///

In about 90% of all cases of Cri Du
Chat the trait is autosomal and
caused by a birth defect. Though it
is possible to be inherited by a
parent (even if they are
uneffected).

Diagnosis
<<<|0w0|>>>

There is no specific treatment for Cri
Du Chat. The persons effected with
this will require physical and language
therapy and constant attention in
early life, but are capable of being
perfectly normal functioning members
of society. This is all that can be done.

,,>>>OWO<<<,,

The diagnosis is usually
determined at the moment of birth
by identification of the cat cry.
An Analysis of the infants
Chromosomes may be preformed
and a more detailed FISH analysis
may be done if the chromosomal
damage isn't evident.
A doctor may make note of the
symptoms.

Small head (microcephaly)
Small jaw (micrognathia)
Wide-set eyes

individual effected with the disorder.
