PUBLICITY OFFICER
1st Year studying English Literature and Creative Writing
I have been dancing since I was 7 years old
I’ve taken vocational exams in Ballet and Modern
I have also taken classes in Contemporary, Jazz and Street Dance
I am passionate about dance; especially getting more people dancing with us –
whether they are first, second or third years; whether they are beginners or
talented dancers already. I want to make everyone feel welcome and part of
the Kent Dance family.
I took Art at A Level and I have a good knowledge of Photoshop. I also have
some experience with designing web pages.
My main focus as publicity officer is to increase the recognition of Kent Dance.
We are one of the largest societies on campus so it’s time people noticed us and
knew more about us! Here are my key ideas:
Publicity Team – Forming a dedicated team of KD members who can help create
a stronger presence for the society on campus. This would involve poster
distribution as well as giving suggestions to me about designs for t-shirts, posters,
flyers etc. and helping out at Freshers’ fair.
Freshers’ Fair – have a strong presence at the fair with people based on the stand
but also some people walking around. Creating a friendly and welcoming stand
so we can sign up lots of people.
Working with competition co-ordinator – advertising auditions for competitions
with posters around campus so we are advertising outside of the society as well
as internally = fresh new talent and new members!
More merchandise – joggers, hoodies and t-shirts in different colours. Keeping
the same logo so we are recognised.
