Information, Reminders and Warnings
We would be very grateful if you would read the
following guidelines:
• Aggressive, over-boisterous or nervous dogs should be
kept under close control or on a lead, and muzzled if
necessary.
• Dogs must have a collar or harness and a valid ID tag
and should be kept on a lead in the car park area. Offlead exercise will be encouraged on the walk and dogs
should wear a bandana (provided free of charge, so we
can identify our group of dogs).
• Bitches in season should wait until a month later before
joining our walk, otherwise the boys can become a bit
leery and cause trouble!
• We shall meet other walkers, dogs and cyclists on this
walk – please be prepared to put your dog back on the
lead temporarily if necessary – there may be quite a
few dogs in our group that some people may find
intimidating and we are doing our best to promote the
Rescue organisation.
• Please note that participation is entirely at your own
risk.
• We strongly recommend that you take out pet
insurance in case of any accident or injury.
• We advise microchipping as a safeguard in case anyone
goes missing.
• The walk venues are home to foxes that may transmit
mange - we advise using a vet-recommended
treatment to prevent fleas, mange and other parasites.
• Rodent life is prevalent and the walks may pass lakes;
this combination increases the risk of Weil’s disease.
Puppy and adult dog vaccinations will protect against
Weil’s disease.
Information about, and photos from the walks are posted on
the Large Breed Dog Rescue website forum:
